Modem installation issues
Symptoms:
If any of the following symptoms are observed, follow the steps listed in the workaround below to resolve the issue(s).
- After installing a fax modem using the Dialogic® Diva® Configuration Wizard, if more fax modems are added using the Configuration Manager, there may be an error message: "Insufficient administrator rights".
- Fax modems are already installed and appear in the Diva Configuration Manager, but the installed modems are not listed in the Microsoft® Fax Service Manager as devices.
- Fax modems are listed in in the Microsoft Fax Service Manager, but faxes cannot be sent or received successfully.
Workaround:
1. Delete all the modems in the Diva Configuration Manager.
2. Stop the Microsoft Fax service.
3. Reinstall the modems in the Diva Configuration Manager.
4. Reboot the computer.
If Microsoft® Fax is being used as the fax application, the Microsoft Fax Service Manager should now display all the modems and faxes can be sent/received successfully.
