Suspected hardware faults: diagnosis

Symptom:

You suspect that there may be a hardware fault with a Dialogic® Diva® Media Board.
 
Procedure: 

Please answer the following questions so we can guide you to the most relevant information. 
Further information will appear when you click on answers to questions below.
Restart procedure 

[1n] Is the board visible in Windows Device Manager?  YES / NO
[1n] The board is not visible in Windows Device Manager: Try installing the board in a different PCI slot in the same server and/or in a different server. If the board is still not recognized by the server or the operating system, please contact us.
[1y] The board is visible in Windows Device Manager: Does the board appear in the Dialogic® Diva® Configuration Manager? YES / NO
[2n] The board is not visible in Diva Configuration Manager: Are you using the latest Diva software? YES / NO
[3n] If you are not using the latest Diva software, please download the latest Dialogic® Diva® Service Release Software. Install the software and reboot the server. Does the board now appear in the Dialogic Diva Configuration Manager? YES / NO
[4n] If the board does not appear in the Diva Configuration Manager after updating the Diva software, please contact us.
[2y] The Diva board appears in both Windows Device Manager and Diva Configuration Manager.  Is the board an analog or an ISDN Diva board? Analog / ISDN
[5a] Analog board: Capture an initialisation trace, run the dtectpci utility and send us both output files.
[5i] ISDN board: Run a hardware test with the Diva Linetest utility after unplugging all cables from the board. Does the test pass or fail? PASS / FAIL
[6f] If the ISDN hardware test fails: contact us, giving the error you see in the Linetest window.
[6p] If the ISDN hardware test passes, it could still be a port that is faulty but the fault may not be detected by the hardware test. Perform a line check with the Linetest tool using the same line on all available ports with all the ports configured identically.
If the tests give inconsistent results, take an initialisation trace and send us the resulting file.

If all Diva hardware tests pass you should check and test the line configuration.
