About maximum SS7 CIC numbers

What is the maximum CIC?

The maximum value for the CIC numbers that can be used in SS7 CIC configuration is dependant on the SS7 stack type used (ANSI or ITU).

ANSI: 16,383 (14-bit field)

ITU: 4095 (12-bit field)

How to configure the maximum CIC number

The SS7 CIC configure message is described in the Dialogic® CSP Converged Services Platform documentation: message type 0x6a .

You will see the AIB 0x14 SS7 CIC group.

Data bytes 1 and 2 are used for CIC numbering. This is a 2 byte hex field which allows for CIC numbers with 4 digits.
