How to take a trace
In order to diagnose the behaviour of the Diva card during a connection, an Eicon support engineer may request you to take a trace which records the activity of the card into a log file.
Please, follow the instructions below:
Step 1. Reboot your PC; this ensures
- that any configuration changes you have made are in effect
- that the trace buffer is empty and not filled with previous activity
- that the DIVA card initialisation trace is at the beginning of the DiTrace buffer and not overwritten
Step 2. Go to Start > Programs > Diva > Line Check and click on the "Start" button and wait until Line Check is complete.
Step 3. Reproduce the problem. Limit the number of calls to one if possible. This is to keep the trace at a minimum.
Step 4. Immediately take the trace and save the output to a text file as follows:
Go to Start > Programs > Diva Client for Windows > Diagnostics

The output will be displayed by Notepad (or the program you have configured to edit .TXT files). Save the file - for example, you could use the filename DITRACE1.TXT.
Step 5. Send this file to our support centre, quoting your case reference number.
