Cannot access DMG1000/2000 via web interface after enabling HTTPS by accident.

Symptom:

After enabling HTTPS access for remote configuration, a Dialogic® 1000 Media Gateway (DMG1000 Gateway) or Dialogic® 2000 Media Gateway (DMG2000 Gateway) might become unresponsive to HTTP requests. If HTTPS access does not work either, then the configuration interface is not accessible remotely.

Solution

You can connect to the DMG via telnet (if it is enabled), or via the serial port, in order to disable/enable the interface you want.

Procedure

1. Connect a serial cable to the serial connector on the rear panel of the DMG unit (the DIAGNOSTICS connector on DMG1000 Gateways and COM 2 connector on DMG2000 Gateways). For connector pin designation information, refer to Table 1, “DIAGNOSTICS Connector Pin Designations”, on page 18 or Table 4, “COM 1 and COM 2 Connector Pin Designations”, on page 22 of the Getting Started Guide.

2. Using a serial interface application (for example, Procomm Plus or HyperTerminal), set the workstation to the following:
• Baud Rate = 38400 (DMG1000 Gateways) or 115200 (DMG2000 Gateways)
• Parity = None
• Data Bits = 8
• Stop Bits = 1
• Hardware Flow Control = Off

3. Press the Enter key repeatedly until the following prompt appears:
           PIMG>

4. At the prompt, type 'pwd' (without the quotes) and press Enter.

5. When prompted, enter the password for the admin user (the default is IpodAdmin) and press Enter.

6. Type 'cfg get webhttpsenabled' (without the quotes), the DMG unit will return the current value of the parameter.

7. If it is set to YES, type 'cfg set webhttpsenabled no'. This should disable HTTPS access to the configuration.

8. Then you can type 'cfg set webhttpenabled yes'. This will re-enable access to the configuration interface via HTTP.

9. Type 'cfg save' to apply the changes.

10. Do a restart by typing 'restart'.
