Event Viewer Error RTFAPI 1001
Symptom:
When starting up Dialogic® JCT and DM3 products, occasionally one may encounter an error message in application section of the Windows® event log which describes an error in Dialogic® RTF services, "[Error] Bad logic:RTF Dispatching service is not running."
Reason for the problem:
This is a message that can be safely ignored. The error is reported due to dependency of various Dialogic services that start in the Windows environment. RTF (run time tracing facility) is a diagnostics service that gets started under Windows. This error can occur when another Dialogic service makes a call into the RTF service which has not yet started. During startup, it is possible that one of the Dialogic® components will be started before the RTF service has started. If this happens, the 1001 error message will be logged in the Windows Application log.
Fix / Solution:
This message is not an indication that RTF is not working; it only means that another service attempted to log before RTF was started. When RTF is started subsequently, the service that generated the error will be able to successfully log to RTF. Dialogic has implemented a set of dependency rules for its services to prevent this error; however, this does not account for all scenarios. If this error occurs, it can safely be ignored.
