Global Call D-Channel Tracing Tool
Introduction:
This article describes a Dialogic
® Global Call API D-Channel tracing tool
available for download that collects ISDN/PRI signaling information for Dialogic
® JCT and DM3 Media Boards.
Features
- supports both Dialogic® JCT and DM3 Media Boards
- traces one or more D-Channels
- writes activity for each D-Channel to a different file
- does not use channel devices and has no effect on Call Control
- tool can be started at any time to begin recording traces
- converts binary traces to a readable .res format (which can be opened in Visual Studio or Wordpad)
The tool has been tested on Dialogic® System Release 6.0 PCI for Windows®.
The tool performs the following operations:
- Opens the board device(s) specified in the gc_D-ChanTrace.cfg file. For example, dtiB1.
- Calls the gc_StartTrace() function..
- Logs to the filename(s) specified in the gc_D-ChanTrace.cfg file.
- Exits on <CTRL C> user keyboard input, and terminates the trace(s) calling gc_StopTrace().
- Attempts to run the saved file(s) through the pritrace tool, to convert the binary trace(s) to a readable .res format.
Pre-requisites
The user must modify the gc_D-ChanTrace.cfg file before running the tool.
