Slow or problematic connections with Diva USB 4.0
Symptom:
Calls made through a Dialogic® Diva® ISDN USB 4.0 in transparent mode might be slow and send corrupt data. A Diva ISDN USB 2.01 does not show the same problem in the same setup.
Reason for the issue:
There is an issue when using transparent mode that can cause data corruption which in turn can cause data retransmissions (hence the slow speed) or call drops.
Fix / Solution:
There is a fix available on the Dialogic Support FTP server,
here. The fix consists of a zip file containing a new diwan.sys file.
To install the fix, follow these instructions:
- Uninstall the Diva Client software, using the uninstaller provided in the Start menu.
- Extract the diwan.sys file from the downloaded zip file.
- Locate the Diva Client installation folder. This is the location where the driver software was originally extracted after download from the Dialogic web site. If you no longer have this folder, please download the drivers again from here and extract them to a folder on your hard disk.
- Replace the existing diwan.sys in the Diva Client software installation folder using the downloaded file.
- Restart the computer. If Windows prompts to install drivers, cancel this process.
- Run upgrade.exe from the Diva Client software installation folder.
- Restart the machine once more.
Note: replacing diwan.sys in the %WINDIR%\System32\drivers\disdn\ folder will most likely trigger the Windows File Protection to automatically restore the previous version. The process described above is therefore the recommended way of applying the fix.
