How to debug DSP resources 'stuck' on timeslots
Symptom:
DSP resources may get stuck on the Dialogic® CSP Converged Services Platform (CSP) switch time slot channels.
This article explains how to enable debugging on the Dialogic® CSP Matrix Controller Series 3 Card to see the DSP resource stuck and how to determine which DSP resource it is that is stuck.
Fix / Solution:
With a debug cable connected to the CSP Matrix Card monitor port on the front panel perform the following commands:
At the main prompt, use the L4 channel state diagnostic to dump the L4 information for the span on which the offending channel resides:
press d <span>
We will assume for this example that span, channel exhibiting the continuous tone is being heard on (0x00:0x00, 0x00).

Use the timeslot info diag:- t <nnnnn> to dump the timeslot information to see what resources are attached.
The SYM timeslot number for span channel (0x00:0x00, 0x00) is 0000 that is the number in the d diag dump that is underlined.
press t00000 and the following will be displayed.

The last line in the diag dump shows the DSP resource function type that is stuck attached to this timeslot. In this line we see the func_type 48.
The number 48 is in decimal; in hex this is 0x30. If you look in the Dialogic® Converged Services Platform (CSP) Web Help and go to the API reference guide's 0xc0 dsp simm configure message you will see that the function type 0x30 for DSP2 is a Universal Generator which is used to generate the call progress tones and or DTMF, MFR1 and MFR2 digits. So the example above shows a DSP resource whihc in the case is stuck and was never released from this timeslot.
