Call Bumping

Call Bumping is a feature which, while a data call is active using both B-channels, allows one of the B-Channels to be dropped in order to answer or make a phone/fax call. The data call remains in progress with just one channel and once the phone or fax call is finished, the data call resumes using both channels.

Note: This feature is only available on ISDN networks that support the Call Deflection supplementary feature. Check with the ISDN line provider if Call Deflection is available and activated on the line.

Using Call Bumping
In order to activate the call bumping functionality, ensure that the latest version of the Diva drivers is installed.

Then proceed as follows:

Step 1. Right click on the Monitor Tool icon dc30a.PNG in the system tray icon.

Step 2. Select Call Bumping in the menu.

Here you can enter several parameters.

Tick the option "Enable Call Bumping" to enable this feature.

Multiple Subscriber Number 1: Incoming calls to this number will trigger call bumping (if enabled)

Multiple Subscriber Number 2: Incoming calls to this number will trigger call bumping (if enabled)

External Number: Incoming voice calls will be forwarded to this number if no B-channel is available, and call bumping is enabled.

Number of retries to bring up the second channel: This configures the number of times that Call Bumping will try to reassign a "bumped" B-channel to the data-call to which it originally belonged.

Delay between retries to bring up the second channel: This number (in seconds) determines how long Call Bumping will wait between attempts to regain the "bumped" B-channel.

Step 4. Once the configuration is complete, click on Apply and OK.

Step 5. Call Bumping should now be enabled.

Note: This feature is known to be working in Ireland and Germany.
