Configuring ISDN protocol for JCT boards in DCM

Background:

When using Dialogic® JCT Media Boards like D/240JCT-1T1, D/300JCT-1E1, D/480JCT-2T1 and D/600JCT-2E1 boards, the name of the ISDN protocol to be selected in the “Interface” tab of the DCM is not same as the one used in Dialogic® DM3 boards. Moreover, for JCT boards, the ISDN protocol name will vary based on the mode to which the Dialogic board has to be configured (User or Network)

Solution:

The below table helps in selecting the proper ISDN protocol to be specified in the "interface" tab when using JCT boards.

S.No Trunk type  ISDN flavor     Mode   ISDN Protocol in JCT
 1  E1  NET5  User  CTR4
 2  E1 NET5  Network  NE1
 3  E1  QSIG-E1  User  QTE
 4  E1  QSIG-E1  Network  QNT
 5  T1  QSIG-T1  User  QTU
 6  T1  QSIG-T1  Network  QTN
 7  T1  NI2  User  NI2
 8  T1  NI2  Network  NT1
 9  T1  4ESS  User  4ESS
 10  T1  4ESS  Network  NT1
 11  T1  5ESS  User  5ESS
 12  T1  5ESS  Network  NT1
 13  T1  DMS  User  DMS
 14  T1  DMS  Network  NT1

For example, if the JCT board has an E1 trunk (D/300JCT-1E1 or D/600JCT-2E1) and it has to be configured as user side of NET5 protocol, CTR4 has to be selected as ISDN Protocol in the Dialogic board.
