Backup/Restore of DMG4000
Introduction
This article describes the procedure to perform a backup or restore a Dialogic® 4000 Media Gateway Series (DMG4000). A user may want to perform a back-up in order to create a known good baseline to restore in the event an issue is encountered in the future.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- You can only restore the LAST BACKUP.
- Do not select a factory reset since this will cause the current configuration on the DMG4000 will be lost.
- It is required to be physically at the DMG4000 and directly accessing it with a keyboard and mouse, to perform the backup and restore procedures.
Procedure
Reboot the DMG4000. Only when you see "Press LEFT ALT to enter backup/restore facility" press the left 'ALT' key on the keyboard.

By doing this, you will force the "Dialogic 4000 Media Gateway Series System Recovery" menu to come up. You will be presented with a list of options to choose from, including "Create Backup" and "Restore Previous backup". Choose the appropriate option with your mouse, in order to do a backup or to do a restore.
