Unable to complete an outbound fax or voice call using the DMG1000 analog gateway

Overview

If a SIP application , such as a fax server, is integrating with the Dialogic® 1000 Media Gateway Series, the application may need to know how an outbound call made via the DMG1000 Gateways gets connected.   The SIP application's business logic will then need to respond depending on the type of connection.   If an application does not process the resulting connection information correctly, then a fax call or a voice call will not be completed.

Detailed Description:

Sometimes users need to know when DMG1000 Gateways will signal a SIP endpoint with the SIP OK to connect the call.   After outbound call is dialed, DMG1000 Gateways is listening to the audio received. If it detects a human voice, it connects the call.  The Reason Header in SIP OK will include Text="Voice".   If it detect a fax tone, it connects the call with Reason:E.182;text="Fax"

If DMG1000 Gateway detects the ringback tones, it will signal connect when ringback tone stops. The ringback tone could stop in the middle of the tone, or stop during the silence between ringback tones.  If it stops in the middle of the tone, the DMG1000 Gateway will signal connect immediately. If it stops in the middle of silence between ringback tones, it will wail until next ringback tone is supposed to appear. The Readon Header in SIP OK will include Text="Ringing".

If none of ringback tones or human voice is detected, DMG will signal connect after "Outbound Call Connect Timeout" expired. The Reason Header will include Text="Timeout".

Depending on the outcome, the application will need to process the the resulting code and reply accordingly.
