MERCCONFIG Error in Windows Event Viewer

Symptom:

Using the SR 6.0 driver line can result in an error being logged into the Microsoft Windows Event Viewer that appears to indicate a problem but the service starts and the boards are functional.

The error entry is as follows:

Source: dlgc_log
Category: None
Event ID: 1
Description: MERCCONFIG - DLGCMPD driver failed to start.

This error is seen in systems running exclusively Dialogic Springware boards.

Reason for the problem:
This error is logged by the DM3 subsystem as it attempts to be started. If there are no DM3 type boards in the system this subsystem will fail to start and log the error.

Fix / Solution:

On systems based entirely on Dialogic Springware boards this error can be ignored.

NOTE: If you do have DM3 type boards in the system, this error should not appear. If it does, follow the guidance in this article to determine if there is a problem with the installation or the board.
